As an aside, if you should find you really can't get it to
work with libXpm, you should be able to set CONFIG_USE_PIXMAPS
to False in Config.h, and the build should then avoid requiring
Xpm at all.  (You won't get pretty backgrounds to the frames
and menus, but not everyone wants those anyway.)
