Re: [wmx] Key bindings debugging with xev

Hi Alexandros, and everyone.
Many thanks!
Don't bother to study the "simultaneous R&L click". I recompiled from the
original Cannam source with your edit of the background.xpm, everything
went great, and the simultaneous click is working. I used the strip
command as you suggested and the file now has 124k instead of 507k.
I now have a version of wmx 7 with a nice light-green plain frame, and
the older Fedora executable rpm version with the blue-pattern frame.
And you guys taught me how to change the frame to any color. That's
great! (I'll stick to plain colours for now, and try patterns later.)
The keyboard access to the menu is still not working, but these versions
of wmx being very workable as they are, I won't make a fuss of it!
Thanks to all!
Christian

Now another bug: double clicking for the menu
shuts down wmx and brings you back to the black
console screen.
I'm sorry, I can't test that because I use a Wacom tablet and the wacom
driver doesn't support the "Emulate3Buttons" option which makes
clicking the left and right buttons together emulate a middle
click.
Are you running wmx from a terminal? The last few lines printed by wmx
should help determine if wmx shuts down normally or crashes for some
reason. Although I don't think it should shut down if you don't click on
the corner of the screen and select "Exit wmx" from the menu...
Also, the wmx with the modified background compiles
as a 507k file. Is this normal?
Try stripping the wmx executable ("strip wmx"). This will remove all
debug info and symbol names and leave a much smaller file (about 130k
for me).
Best,
Alexandros
